The goal of the Aristotelian essay is to persuade your reader toward understanding your opinion on an
issue. In this essay, you will select a NEW TOPIC and persuade your reader towards your view. This is a
different approach than the Rogerian essay, which seeks to show balance, both sides, of the issue. In this
discussion, in preparation for this final essay, indicate your topic, your thesis, at least three supporting
reasons, and a counter argument which you will use as the building blocks to build this traditional
argument. This should not be written in outline format, but rather, in discussion format.
