Emergency medical services (EMS)

    Emergency medical services (EMS) workers provide pre-hospital emergency medical care. Their duties create an inherent risk for on-the-job injuries and illnesses. Research shows that EMS workers have high rates of fatal injuries and nonfatal injuries and illnesses. In regards to a fire/rescue department, how can we, as Safety officers, provide help to these fellow first responders, and what are some programs currently in place to assist them in their time of need?
