Description: Select a case study based upon current events or an event in your life and examine its ethical and legal issues from the perspectives of the patient. Then complete a reflection/application paper in which you examine the patient of your case from the perspectives outlined in the readings and discussions of the week. Be sure to cite sources that support your opinions.
It will be your responsibility to find an example you can use as a case study for this assignment. You may want to use a search term such as “ethical case studies associated with patients” to find some case studies or search newspaper and magazine sites. Remember to use authoritative, reliable sources. If you are unsure about whether a source is reliable, a good place to review how to evaluate a source is:

Case Study Outline:
Summarize the issues associated with the case.
Identify the ethical and/or legal issues of the case.
Develop and defend your position regarding the case.
Explain how a risk management approach could reduce the potential of an ethical or legal lapse by the provider or facility.
Be sure to provide a personal reflection on how you interpret the ethical and/or legal issues associated with the case study and how you would approach the issues if you, a family member, or a friend were the patient. Support your perspective with references to the readings and/or videos.
