Examine three well-known speeches of your choice. These are your primary sources. One must
be from a language other than English, and one must be originally given in English. Citing at least two
peer-reviewed sources, two other sources, and one secondary source in a language other than English,
write a five-page essay, not including the references, (double-spaced, Time New Roman font with
one-inch margins) describing a common rhetorical device, approach, or framework that the speeches all
use and how this device, approach, or framework can be used in undergraduate writing to great effect.
You can use sources that describe general writing and rhetoric, but your essay is focused on applying this
commonality to undergraduate writing.
