‘Experience of UN support of victims of sexual violence’

Order Description Women across the developing world suffer incidents of sexual violence. In many countries the UN has support organisations in place to help victims of such violence. You are commissioned by the UN to carry out a qualitative research project, in a country of your choice. The aim of the study is to use a qualitative methodology, with victims of sexual violence who have received support from UN organisations, in order to evaluate the work of the UN. Outline the situation (500 words – using UN, International Oragnisations, International Think Tanks, BBC, etc.) Explain your research strategy (including rationale/justification, why are you doing it this way; methodology, sample, access) Which qualitative methods you would use (focus groups, semi-structured interviews, in-depth interviews, participant observation, biography/life story) Discuss rationale/justification, advantages and disadvantages for each methodological decision Think of politics and ethics of this research
