    Explain the function of basic computer hardware components   A computer is an electronic device that allows for the input, manipulation, and output of information. Through the years we have seen the computer evolve and become more accessible for the general user. The hardware of a computer serves as the physical foundation for the functions of a computer- It consists of 4 major groups of components: the system unit, input devices, output devices, and storage devices. In this competency you will explore these components and learn about their roles. Directions: In this assignment you will compare computer models to determine which model will best meet a department’s needs- Flead chapter 2, pages 53-86 in the docs textbook. Then read the slides with accompanying transcripts- Then take a look at the document called “Computer Selections.” Imagine that you are a sales consultant for a healthcare organization. Based on what you have learned about hardware, select one of the models listed in the Computer Selections document for the department described below and write a 1 page recommendation explaining your rationale for each selection. Discuss any downsides to the model you selected and include information about any additional equipment they would need to purchase to accompany that model- Radiology Department: The computer for Radiology needs to be able to process and store large volumes of image files. Ideally it should be able to process these image files quickly to make them available for time-sensitive conditions and emergency situations that require immediate care- Large, high-quality display capabilities would help the department view detailed images.
