In this discussion, you will work in small groups in online discussions to solve three short mathematics problems about the loudness of sound. This group discussion will help prepare you for activity M5A2, in which you will write and submit an individual complete solution to a related problem.
Answer the following questions. 1.How many times louder is a 60 dB sound than a 10 dB sound? 2.How many times more energy is released by a magnitude 5 earthquake than by a magnitude 3 earthquake? 3.When you are 2 meters away from the speakers at a concert, the sound level is 140 db. How far away should you sit to reduce the level to 100 dB?
Be sure to answer all parts of the question above. It is possible that you will not be successful at answering all parts of the question at this point, and that is okay. Describe what you were able to solve and what questions you have remaining. Also making sure that the writer show the work on how they got to the answer.
