Which of the external environmental factors are most likely to impact the organizational-you and the managerial-you? Why? What are the implications of those impacts? Think, in particular, about the technological, natural, sociocultural, economic, legal/political, and international environment. Note: This first question asks which of the external environmental factors are most likely to affect the organizational-you; i.e., how and to what extent are you a function of your environment? To what extent are you a product of your circumstances? To what extent are you a product of critical thinking? To what extent are you a product of your decisions? Another way to think about this question is to think about how much of who you are was likely “inherited.” You probably didn’t choose much of who you are (your race, ethnicity, gender, culture, religion, etc.), you were born into them and they enveloped you. Likewise, much of what you learned during your formative years (the ages between 4 and 12) was a function of your environment. The decisions you make (the managerial-you) are likely impacted by those things as well. But again, to what extent are you a product of your circumstances? To what extent are you a product of critical thinking? To what extent are you a product of your decisions?
