Fake News
Fake News
As social media continues to grow in popularity, the way it is used evolves. With an increase in fake news, especially that which is posted on social media platforms,
many Americans have started to question what role the First Amendment plays. Does the First Amendment protect individuals who share fake news? Does the First Amendment
protect the social media platforms? Is any entity protected? Does it depend on the content of the fake news being shared? As we continue to see the ways in which fake
news perpetuates harmful stereotypes, greatly impacts the political world, and severely hinders our understanding of current events, we have to ask ourselves how it
can be stopped and, more specifically, who’s responsible. PART I: Research Paper Title of research paper: Fake News: Who’s Responsible? Requirements: 1-3 pages, 4
