This paper should focus on either the Federal Court System or the state courts in a respective state. Discuss the topics below in a four page double spaced paper (not including cover page and references). How is the specific court organized? How would you rate the efficiency of this organization? Discuss this in terms of unified vs. fragmented court systems. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each system? How does the specific court work? There are philosophical arguments regarding “assembly line justice” and due process models. What are the arguments for both types of operation? How does the court selected handle most of its cases and is this fair in your opinion? Be sure to form a cogent argument regarding your support for either assembly line justice models or due process models. Be sure to address how one of these models would be implemented taking into account resources, due process, and constitutionality. Regarding the actual operation of the court that you have chosen, how does the courtroom workgroup play into this? What are some problems with the courtroom workgroup and how does it function as a social group? What are the norms and mores of this group and what sanctions are imposed on those who violate these norms? Does the courtroom workgroup inhibit justice or does it help to implement justice?
