WK 3 Assignment 3: Final Project: Speaking the Truth The underlying basis of good leadership is good communications: honest, credible, and complete. One of the biggest problems in the workplace is the failure to speak the truth to the people in power. This means subordinates do not tell their bosses what they need to know. It is necessary to speak the truth among friends, peers, and colleagues, but when the message is a difficult one, people are reluctant to speak the truth. Describe an instance when you stood up and spoke out for what was right even though you were in the minority or were greatly outnumbered. What were the consequences? Would you do it again? Did someone ever tell you the hard truth about something you did or didn’t do to make a difference? Did you willingly bear the consequences for personal acts harming someone or the organization?
