Use the information from your MyFitness pal Food Diary and Nutrient Report to write your essay. Your essay should be a minimum of 500 words, saved as a Word or PDF document.
Look over your NUTRIENT results and use this information to improve your diet. To access the Nutrient report: click “More” link, click “Nutrition”, and select “Nutrients” from the 3 choices at the top of the page. Discuss the changes you will make to increase or decrease your nutrient intake to meet the target recommendations. For example sodium is a nutrient that we should limit for heart health, if you are over the limit you need to identify foods high in sodium that you consumed and remove them from your diet. Discuss each bullet point in your essay. Support from text required, include text page number to cite textbook content.
• What is your intake of fiber and how does it compare to the target? What health benefits are associated with fiber inake? What specific foods can you add to your diet to increase your intake of fiber?
• What is your intake of cholesterol and how does it compare to the target? List the two foods you consumed with the highest amount of cholesterol. What health issues are associated with a diet high in cholesterol? What specific foods can you eliminate from your diet to reduce your intake of cholesterol?
• What is your intake of sodium and how does it compare to the target? List the two foods you consumed with the highest amount of sodium. What health issues are associated with a diet high in sodium? What specific foods can you eliminate from your diet to reduce your intake of sodium?
• What is your intake of sugar and how does it compare to the target? List the two foods you consumed with the highest amount of sugar. What health issues are associated with a diet high in refined sugars?
• What is your calorie intake and how does it compare to the target? List the 2 foods you consumed that were the highest in calories. What health issues are associated with a diet high in calories?
• How much water did you consume and how does it compare to the target? What beverages did you consume?
