Has the changing nature of the international system resulted in it becoming ‘flatter’ or more ‘uneven’? The four areas of change you need to choose from are: the political character of states in the international system – this includes the factors that affect political change within the international system and whether we are seeing the spread of liberal democracies or a system with a diverse range of polities (states or other political structures) economic growth – this includes issues of what causes economic growth, debates over why economies diverged historically and whether we are seeing convergence or divergence the spread of networks – this includes questions about the growth of networks and how networked actors themselves effect change the impact of revolutions – this includes questions about factors that lead to revolutions and in what ways revolutions can bring about change.
