400–600 total words will be required to answer these 3 questions (A–C).
A. Based on the Focus Group results and quotes found in the Resource Packet, what ethnographic factors might have played an important part in the level of success
which Ms. Jones’ class displayed? Discuss how they could have been a factor.
B. Using the Pretest and Posttest data in Appendix ZZ of the Resource Packet found in the Additional Materials of Module/Week 5, review how this testing effort was
helpful (or not) to the evaluation of the class effort, in your opinion. Even though she did add a control group, how might Ms. Jones’ Pretest/Posttest approach have
been made even more rigorous or statistically sensitive by using a more complicated control group scenario/option?
C. Pick 1 of the more cogent (non-ethnographical) focus group quotes and write a short essay on the rationale behind the person’s argument—defend it without
necessarily using outside research, and discuss briefly how it might skew Ms. Jones’ program evaluation data review. (If you do use outside research, please give
citations where they are ethically and/or legally expected using the AMA style.)
