Helping clients cope with stress

A client comes to you with some issues with stress. Through the course of the conversation you find out that as part of her coping she smokes and drinks alcohol when she is particularly stressed out. She expresses a desire to feel better physically as well as mentally, but does not know what to do to get started. What further information do you need to gather from her? How do you help the client set goals that will lead to her feeling better? What information would you share with her about these habits and what scriptures could you use to encourage her? How do the text and Scripture support your thoughts?
