Essay II (historical marker) HISTORICAL MARKER TEXT FOR EVENT RESEARCHED IN ESSAY I For Essay II, everyone must propose an historical marker for the event you covered in Essay I. This will count for 25 points. Many of you will be able to use text that appears in your Essay I: 1.) Provide an address, intersection, or relative location for the marker (you can include a map showing the location). This should answer the question of where the event took place. For example: outside the house where a person died, or the studio where a film was made or a theatre where it was shown, or the airport where a flight left, or the field where it flight crashed, etc. You can use your imagination on this, but you have to put the marker someplace. 2.) Indicate the text that will appear on the marker. This should include: a.) a title of 3 to 8 words, and b.) a description of 50 to 80 words The goal of the marker is for the general public to be able to understand and appreciate the text of the marker (and the event it commemorates). The grade breakdown for the 25 points will be: 5 points for the location/map, 5 points for the marker title, and 15 points for the marker text. Details and sample historical markers are in PowerPoint 17, available in Blackboard. i upload my essay I
