History of Street Photography Order Description The essay should articulate a persuasive thesis about the relationship between your selected texts, which is supported by your close reading and analysis, and by your contextual reading. Your essay should engage with both primary and secondary sources. The purpose of the assignment is: (i) to demonstrate your ability to develop a persuasive claim (a thesis) about the relationship between urban theory, urban space, and the urban imaginary and to clearly articulate this claim and the central reasons for proposing it; (ii) to select primary texts which support your thesis; (iii) to demonstrate an ability to research contextual and theoretical issues that may inform your interpretation of the selected texts; (iv) to demonstrate analytical thinking: the ability to read texts closely and to select relevant examples and quotations that support (or sometimes counter) your claims.
