Iinitially, describe the Ogallala Aquifer and its vital services provided [economically (agriculture), environmentally]. Use most up to date information (if possible) to discuss subsidies and their effect (economically) on why water is extracted at an excessive rate. Discuss how Kansas uses the water extracted from the aquifer and at what rates the water is extracted. Also discuss the implications (short-term and long-term) of non-replenish able extraction of water from the Ogallala Aquifer. Finish by reasonably explaining (not in great detail but with enough logic to render it possible/feasible)what the possible solutions are or, in general, what can be done to prevent permanent damage to the Ogallala Aquifer.
