Huawei's Smartphone Strategy Order Description Requirements from rubric: 1. Don’t list 5 problems. Boil it down to what’s the overall problem. Only wants ONE problem. 2. Analyze each force of porter’s five forces. Analyze how it affects the industry and Columbia specifically (high, medium or low identify) 3. Pick 3 or 4 environmental factors that are really influential and how they affect that industry 4. Identify whether the strategy is integrated, low-cost, differentiation, diversification. Explain why. 5. Remember: Strengths and weaknesses are internal to the firm 6. Competitive advantage- Narrow down their core competencies that they do better than their competitors. 7. Have specific recommendations that tie back to your problem. Provide reasons for your recommendations 9. Put an actual pro forma financial statement 10. Put headings, clear and easy to read 11. Single spaced, NO MORE THAN 3 PAGES. Can have an appendix with the financial statement on it (that doesn’t count towards the 3 pages. Neither does a title page) 12. if you use outside information, must cite (last name, year, page number), add the case in the reference. ¥ Be sure that, if you use any external sources in your case assignment, to cite them appropriately using APA guidelines. You'll also need to include a reference page (this page won't count against your page limit). ¥ Also, for any information you draw directly from the case, be sure to paraphrase and use your own words. It is fine to quote from the case occasionally, but when you do, you need to use "quotes" accordingly and use an appropriate citation.
