Congratulations. You have completed a successful career in human resource management and are retiring as V.P. of Human Resources for a Fortune 500 company. You have been invited to deliver a "Last Lecture" to a group of seniors from St. John's University who are seeking jobs in human resource departments. You have decided to begin your lecture discussing an continuing human resource issue that you have witnessed throughout your career.
You plan you introduction by:
1. Selecting an incident using one or more newspapers, professional journals, or URLs that occurred during the last six months.
2. Describe this incident and
3. Explain why it is important from a human resource standpoint.
4. Relate the incident to the issue you wish to discuss.
5. Give the background of the issue.
6. Name the people/groups who are affected by the issue and describe how they are affected.
7. Discuss the various points of view of the issue in terms of sociological theories and the specific viewpoints of those involved.
