Implementation of the Affordable Care Act in 2010 states

With the implementation of the Affordable Care Act in 2010 states were offered federal funding for the Medicaid Expansion Program which would provide Medicaid to the working poor making 100-138% of annual poverty income. To date more than 30 states including DC have accepted this federal funding.

Below is a study published in the Journal of Health Economics which answers the question “Does the ACA Medicaid Expansion Program save lives?”

Read this article, summarize the findings of the study in a couple of sentences, and answer these questions:

1.Has your state accepted the funding for ACA Medicaid Expansion ? (I LIVE IN FLORIDA) I DON’T BELIEVE WE ACCEPT IT. SO LOOK AT THOSE WILL NOT QUALIFY (INDIGENT)
2. If so, as a health care provider have you seen an impact of Medicaid expansion on your patients and your clinical practice?
3. If not, what is the rationale for not accepting this federal funding? (PURELY A. POLITICAL MOVE BY THE REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR).
