Intrinsic Motivation and Extrinsic Motivation

Choose any one of the seven senses (e.g., hearing). Describe three (3) ways that this sense helps you in being successful in three (3) different areas of your life (e.g., work, school, friendship, hobbies, etc.). For each area of your life, you should have 3 tasks in which your chosen sense is helpful. This means you should have a total of nine (9) points.   When I became a college student, I noticed drastic changes in many aspects of my life. My motivations and emotions changed as well, which has impacted my academic success and personal relationships. In terms of motivation, I have found that both intrinsic and extrinsic motivators play an important role for me. Intrinsic motivation is when you are driven by internal factors like enjoyment or interest in the task at hand. For example, when studying for an upcoming exam,
I am motivated to do well because of the pride and satisfaction that comes with achieving a good grade. Extrinsic motivation on the other hand is based on external rewards such as grades or recognition from peers or professors. It can also be seen in how much effort one puts into something just to achieve certain goals such as being accepted into a prestigious program or completing a challenging coursework. In addition to intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, other theories of motivation are also relevant to me as a college student. For instance, self-efficacy theory suggests that having confidence in your own capabilities fuels one's commitment towards accomplishing tasks successfully while goal setting theory states that having clear objectives helps people stay focused on achieving them despite whatever challenges they may face along the way. Regarding emotion, there have been several noteworthy changes since becoming a college student due to daily stressors such as exams or difficult classes that require long hours of studying for comprehension over material covered within short amounts time; all these can lead to feelings of anxiety and depression if left unresolved which can eventually negatively affect academic performance if not addressed properly by seeking help from counseling services offered by universities if necessary . Another emotion experienced during this transition period was loneliness especially among international students who are away from their families back home; however finding ways to cope with it through finding meaningful connections whether it be joining clubs related your interests where you meet people who share similar beliefs/values or simply reaching out old friends helped create new bonds which makes the experience more enjoyable overall Finally considering biology related topics specifically hunger & eating disorders: University life naturally brings about late night study sessions resulting either intentional or unintentional snacking (a behavior known technically known “grazing”). This type of disordered eating often leads excess weight gain & health complications due inadequate nutrition over time; so being mindful eating habits & regulating meal times throughout each day aids greatly towards preventing such risks from developing further into serious issues down line thus maintaining healthier lifestyle will ensure better overall physical & mental wellness which positively impact future successes within various areas life whether academically career wise etc.. To conclude coming college resulted numerous changes regarding my motivations emotions & even biological aspects like dieting - all these account how transitioning higher education has its highs lows but ultimately assists one become more successful individual ready tackle any challenge thrown their way moving forward!
