Introduction to American Government

  Americans often say they dislike the ongoing conflict of American politics. Arguably, however, the Constitution ensures multiple conflicts in governance and, in fact, that potential for conflict was seen as a value by the Constitution’s drafters. In an essay, review the design of the U.S. Constitution and identify at least three ways in which the framers built points of conflict into the design of the constitutional system. For each of these three areas, please discuss why the constitutional provisions create conflicts within the federal government or between different levels of government, assess why the framers designed the American political system in this way, and analyze what they were trying to achieve with these constitutional provisions. For the purposes of your answer, you may include the Bill of Rights as part of the Constitution as drafted by the framers
