Job creating opportunities for students

Step 1 – Read the Case Study:
Regional Community College
David is planning an Introductory Psychology course to be taught at a distance at Regional Community College. He thinks he’s done a good job creating opportunities for the students to learn the content. He is using discussion boards to replace in-class discussion, a vital component of the traditional course. Since many students won’t be on campus at all, David plans on using an online chat program so that he’ll be available for office hours. Most of the assignments have remained the same, since most of the work was discussion papers and a large research paper.
However, his department requires that all sections of this course administer the same mid-term and final exam. The exams are entirely multiple choice; the students respond on Scantron forms that the department scores. He is perplexed at how to use these exams in the online course, since the students won’t be in class to take them.
Step 2 –
David is preparing a presentation regarding these assessments for the rest of his department. He wants to create a visual that can display the best options for the midterm and final exams. Using Chapter 9 in the course textbook and the articles listed below as resources, create a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting a Scantron and an alternative assessment of your choice. Make sure to include the benefits of each as well as note the similarities. See below for an example Venn Diagram.
