Liberty, Equality, and the Fourth Revolution

Liberty, Equality, and the Fourth Revolution Order Description This paper should draw from the following three texts: 1) Alexis de Tocqueville, Democracy in America, ed. Richard D. Heffner, 2001; 2) Francis Fukuyama, The End of History and the Last Man, 2006; and 3) John Micklethwait and Adrian Wooldridge, The Fourth Revolution, 2014. The assignment states: As we have seen throughout the semester, liberty and equality are the foundational values of modern liberal democracy. Yet, the meaning of these terms has changed during the past 2.5 centuries (see esp. the top of p. 69 in Micklethwait and Wooldridge). In light of everything we have studied this semester, what do you consider the optimal ways these terms should be understood, for democracy to persist in a robust sense?
