For the Venter’s text, Life and Death in Rikers Island, you need to argue for either significant changes at
Rikers Island or for the facilities closure. It doesn’t matter which side you argue for, you just have to
argue for your selected side well. You should have some outside sources added in, but I am not
specifically requiring that. Whichever argument you choose should be well thought out and argued.
Persuade me what changes you think should be made, and not just in general, with examples from the
text. Or, persuade me why Riker’s Island should be closed with examples from the text. This reflection is
