Literary movements and western thought discussion

  Look at the PowerPoint first. In no less than 250 words, you will respond to the following prompt regarding the PowerPoint lecture for 8/27. When you consider that Medieval Literature tended toward more holistic thought and that Cartesianism delegated the mind and body to gradations of “rightness,” also consider how this formulated Western ideology concerning minorities. Think about how “the literary canon” must have been created along these lines. Consider the (relatively very recent) inclusion of non-white-European-male writers in your textbooks. Then discuss this: How is your education in literary studies different from one obtained two generations ago? Four generations?
