My results from the leadership assessment tool indicated that I am a Transformational Leader. This means that I focus on inspiring my team to reach their potential, through motivating them and helping them to achieve higher goals. My primary emphasis is on making sure that everyone’s individual strengths are utilized in order to build an overall effective and efficient team.
The traits which will help me in a leadership role are my ability to take the initiative, communicate effectively with others, set high expectations for myself and the team, delegate tasks appropriately and provide positive reinforcement when necessary. These traits all contribute towards achieving better outcomes as a leader. Additionally, my interpersonal skills such as problem solving and decision making also come into play when leading teams or projects.
One trait which might hinder me in a leadership role would be my tendency to be overly critical of myself at times. It could lead me to be too hard on myself if things don't go according to plan, or if mistakes are made by those under my supervision. Therefore it is important for me to remember to remain flexible while still striving for excellence within the group dynamic.
A potential challenge I may face in a leadership position is managing people who have different levels of experience than mine or come from different backgrounds or cultures than I do. In this situation, it will be important for me use my transformational style of leadership; inspiring people through setting goals within specific guidelines but allowing them freedom of expression in how they complete tasks needed for successful completion of projects. By understanding each person's unique talents and strengths, delegating tasks accordingly can make sure everyone’s contribution is acknowledged without putting unnecessary pressure on any one individual member of the team . Additionally providing appropriate feedback through positive reinforcement helps keep morale high even when challenges arise during the project timeline .
The challenge (and advantage) working with groups using this style of Leadership would involve creating an environment where everyones opinion matters regardless if they hold formal titles within the organization structure . In other words , regular check ins allow all members involved get involved actively brainstorming solutions , while taking input into consideration so no one feels like their time was wasted coming up with ideas that were not taken seriously by management . On top side this strategy allows stronger bonds between peers encouraging collaboration across departments easing communications & helping prevent negative feelings among staff members due miscommunication along chain command . On downside however this type slow process can cause delays & frustration among those waiting decisions eventually impacting performance deadlines
