Chinua Achebe wrote "Marriage is a Private Affair," with a very clear perspective as a Nigerian native, on arranged marriages. But the story does not address arranged marriages and their successes or failures per say or even marriages not arranged, their successes or failures. He simply states: "Marriage is a private affair." Write an essay in response to that statement. Do you think that a marriage is a private affair, or to what extent do other members of the family have a say?
