Mill, Utilitarianism.
Imagine that you live in a world where scientists have figured out a way to stimulate a person's brain to induce pleasurable experiences that the subject could not distinguish from those he would have apart from the machine (cf Robert Nozick). If you were given a choice would you prefer to live in the simulation or the real world? Drawing on the literature of utilitarianism give reasons as to your decision. What do you think your conclusion suggests about you in regard to the most good/what is valuable in life?
