Identify 10 monuments erected in honor of Alexander the Great. Monuments can include, but are certainly not limited to, statues, inscriptions, buildings, artistic expressions, onomastic dedications (cities, places, things named after Alexander), and really anything attached to his legacy that is visible today. We will then return to these monuments to flush out Alexander’s memory and legacy in our modern world.
- Canvas Submission (100 points): Submit via Canvas your 10 monuments. Entries must include the following: monument name, description [What is it, Where is it, Date, and any other information you deem relevant], and a picture.
- Google Map Submission (100 points): Add your 10 monuments to our Google Map of Alexander’s monuments. If someone has already added a monument on your list, add a bit more to the existing description and add your name at the end of the entry. For detailed instructions for the mapping component, see below.

Step 1: Once you have identified a monument you would like to submit for this assignment, Click the Add Mark icon (Circled and marked 1 on the above diagram)
Step 2: Enter the monument’s name in the newly opened window (Marked 2 on the above diagram)
Step 3: Write a monument description. This should be short, sweet, and to the point. What is it, Where is it, Date, and any other relevant information concluding with “Entered by [Your Name] and a parenthetical date of entry i.e. (8/20/2020)”
Step 4: Add a picture of the monument (Circled and marked 4 on the above diagram)
Step 5: Proofread and then save your entry.
Step 6: Verify that your monument entry appears on the monument list (marked 4 on the above diagram).
