Answer the questions in page 154 in TWO PAGES. For this assignment, we are going to read a difficult academic text, Amy Tan’s “Mother Tongue” and showcase or contrast her ideas with your own experience(s). This text engages ideas of the language/identity relationship, the larger purpose of how we speak, and she asks us to think about the role of language in daily lived experience. Your job in this essay is to understand concepts from Tan’s essay and apply those concepts to your lived experience. You have to show that you understand her points and that you give the reader a more fully drawn out picture of those ideas through your own educational/lived experience.
