1) The central idea of this assignment is to pick out four or five moments from the movie you watched and analyze them using the information from class. You can point out how the movie was correct or incorrect. “In Stand by Me, the boys exhibited a great deal of teasing and challenging behavior toward each other. As discussed in class, it is common for boys at the age of eight or so to be very confrontational…..etc….”
Hint….yes, I know that is not the movie we watched, was just using it as an example.
2) Helpful hints….do not write a great deal about the plot of the movie. Not looking for a big summary, just highlight the parts that you are discussing. Should be around five pages, double spaced.
3) Pick a movie. Yes, you get to pick
4) Due by Oct 31st. No Drop box, just email it to me with you name and section number
5) What is this about? There is a hole of time in the syllabus. From Oct 9th to the 19th (Exam day), we do not have anything scheduled. So….here is something to do. Here is the catch…it is optional. 25 points possible, but, you can elect to not do it and it will not impact your score in the class. Extra credit? No. It can count as credit, but is not extra. If you elect to do this assignment, take it seriously. If you submit a poorly done paper, it very well could bring down your overall score. AGAIN….THIS IS NOT A REQUIRED
6) What about lectures from the 9th to the 17th? There are none.
