Description
Observe a child for at least 30 minutes at play. Using Garry Landreth’s nondirective and child-centered style of observation, the student will record observation (audio or video) and write a summary of what was observed. It may be helpful to the student to write a transcript of the observation to assist in the reflection process. The student will then apply the theories of development and play for the age group observed throughout the written observation in APA format.
