On Compassion

  Barbara Lazear Ascher points out something disturbing about our responses to poverty and homelessness in her text "On Compassion." She claims, "Compassion is not a character trait like a sunny disposition. It must be learned" (45). Is it true that one nee Students will need to respond to a specific prompt.
