    The organization in question is an e-commerce company that sells a variety of products, including clothing, electronics, toys and home goods. The product or service I have chosen to survey for this example is the customer service experience offered by the company. Specifically,
the organization would like to determine customer satisfaction with their customer service interactions—including response time and helpfulness of employees—in order to inform future decisions regarding their customer service strategy. In determining a sample population for this survey, I chose to select individuals who had recently interacted with the company’s customer service department in some capacity. To do so, I reviewed data from the last month’s worth of customers who contacted customer service via phone calls or emails about product issues or returns/exchanges. From there, I identified 500 unique customers who fit this criteria; these customers will be used as my sample population for conducting this survey. By surveying recent customers who already interacted with customer services directly and experienced it firsthand, we can get an accurate representation of current customer perceptions towards our customer services and use that data to improve our services going forward if necessary. I determined that 500 people was an adequate sample size to represent our target population because it allows us to make statistically significant conclusions about our results without overburdening those surveyed or misrepresenting any demographic groups within our target population due to skewed proportions within a smaller number of responses (Graziano & Raulin 2013). This also allows us sufficient margin of error in interpreting our results meaningfully (American Association for Public Opinion Research 2018). Overall, selecting a random sampling from recent customers who already interacted with the e-commerce business' customer services gives us insight into how satisfied they are with the current offering which can then be used as meaningful feedback going forward on how best we may expand upon what we offer them in terms of improved experiences when engaging with us through various channels such as phone calls or emails..
