Description
Summarize and Paraphrase a "Part" of Louv's Book
Louv, Richard. Last Child in the Woods. Algonquin Books, 2008. 978-1565126053
You are to write an essay that describes and explains a section of Last Child in the Woods. You may not choose Part 1. (And I think we learned from the Booker T. Washington essay that too many people are likely to choose Part 2.)
Remember to include quotes that are main ideas
Remember to make your own title of the essay
Think that if you wrote a book, ten years from now in some college there might be a student who is asked to summarize and paraphrase what you wrote. You would hope that that student would be diligent and forthright and faithfully represent what you had to say and how you said it.
And remember that you are writing for a general audience, not your college professor. Your reader doesn't know anything about Louv's book.
The essay must be at least four pages (800 - 1000 words) and it must be MLA format in terms of document layout and for all quotations and citations.
Don't forget to include a "Work Cited" page at the end of your essay. In this case, there will be no "s" on "Work" because you will only be quoting from his book.
