Paper Assignment The paper assignment is to pick an issue related to policing that you are interested in, identify a question about this topic you’d like to answer in your paper, and then do some research to come up with an answer. Your answer must include at least one scholarly source outside of the textbook. By scholarly source I mean a journal article or book, not Wikipedia or other website, nor simply another CJ textbook. The assignment will be due on April 14th and must adhere to the following: 1. The paper must be at least FIVE typed, double-spaced pages in 12 point Times New Roman font with 1-inch margins with pages STAPLED together. The paper must be 5 FULL pages, not counting a title page or the references page at the end. 2. Proper citations (i.e. APA or MLA format) must be used. Sample Citation Format In the text of the paper you need to use parenthetical citations when drawing information for the textbook or outside books. The parenthetical citations include the author (or authors) names and the year of publication, you also need to list page number if including a direct quote rather than paraphrasing information. Examples: The textbook reported….(Walker & Katz, 2013). A study by Telep (2011) found that….. When citing a direct quote, the page number of the page the quote is drawn from follows the year—(Walker & Katz, 2013: p. 337). Then at the end of the paper, you need a works cited page that provides the full citation for every source you cite in your paper. Examples: Walker, S., & Katz, C. (2013).
