  political econ What would be the advantages and disadvantages of a regulatory system in which, rather than having the FDA (or other regulating body, such as Health Canada) permit or prohibit new drugs, the FDA merely published its opinions about the safety and efficacy of drugs and then allowed physicians to make their own decisions about whether or not to prescribe the drugs for their patients?
