A. Choose three different articles from the OPINION/EDITORIAL section of a major national newspaper (NY times, LA Times, Washington Post, etc.) that deal with an issue of political significance (each article should deal with a different issue). B. Write an approximately two pages long reflection, on each of the pieces. C. IN YOUR ANALYSIS / REFLECTION YOU SHOULD FOCUS ON THE FOLLOWING: 1. What is the article about? Briefly summarize the article and its main point(s). 2. Does the author(s) distinguish between opinion and facts? Is there an ideological political bias? (Liberal, conservative, libertarian etc.; give examples) 3. In what way is the issue relevant to the public, California and you? 4. Do you agree with the author's arguments/ position? Why? Why not? Explain.
