- What do you understand by the term political simulation? (approx. 500 words)
- What are the legal and political restrictions that would have most hindered your ability to achieve your stated aims? (approx. 2,000 words)
The first point will demonstrate your theoretical understanding of the pedagogy of political simulation, while the second point will demonstrate your
understanding of practical politics and pedagogy.
The aim of the simulation is to build understanding of the internal institutions and dynamics of the UK constitution using Scottish independence as a
case study. Therefore, the simulation will include more actors – MPs, MSPs, the EU – than we would see in the actual negotiations.
The aim of each group (UK, Scottish, Parliament, Scottish Parliament, External) is to work out: - What they want? From your research, what is the ultimate goal of your group. In addition to your own specific aims, you will also have to consider
what the other group’s aims may be, and how compatible (or not) the two may be? - How these wants can be achieve? What can you do to achieve your aims? How likely are you to achieve your aims? If they cannot be achieved, for
what would you be prepared to settle? How can you “save face” in the negotiations if you cannot achieve your optimal outcome?
This is a reflective essay for Uk politics. MY role is as a labour party member. and I have to argue how devolution will affect the current Uk
government and their relationship with Scotland as well. I have sent you two examples of my friend’s essays so you can get the full idea and how the
essay is structured. Moreover one of the essays is from the SNP standpoint so from a labour party member, we will be arguing the opposite. whereas
the second essay is from the Labour leader standpoint so my essay should be similar to that however I want my points to be more in-depth.
