Psychological Investigation

Complete the exercises and investigations using the links and directions provided on the worksheet and answer the questions accordingly. Be sure to read the prompts (about the Thumb Test, especially – don’t give me the wrong answer when the right one is provided); and to summarize your attempts. There is no writing required for investigations; however, you need to attach your raw data of your results (copy and paste your result pages on a blank document), and your summary and send it with your submission for me to grade your findings. Manual Tests:
Complete the EYE TEST:
1. Punch a hole in the middle of a large index card or a piece of blank paper.
2. Find an object on the wall to use as a focal point.
3. Hold the piece of paper or the index card in front of your face.
4. With both eyes open, find the focal point while looking thru the hole in the center of your piece of paper.
5. Keeping the paper still, close your left eye. Do you see the focal point?
6. Keeping the paper still, close both eyes.
7. Keeping the paper still, close your right eye. Do you see the focal point?

Complete the THUMB TEST:
Sit down for this one. O.K. Relax. Intertwine your fingers so that your two hands are one (almost like you’re teaching a child to pray). Which thumb is on top when you do this? Try this activity a couple of times. The thumb that tends to be on top most frequently is supposed to be indicative of your dominant hemisphere. Record this in the table above.
