Psychosocial health

Psychosocial health is a big topic today and we have a big obligation to provide infants and toddlers with many experiences to help them develop their social and emotional skills. As ECE teachers we have an obligation to support infants and toddlers grow emotionally and socially. This is an aspect that is critical in our planning for care. Infants and toddlers are just starting to show their colors and experimenting with actions that provoke emotion and responses from others. Along with this, they are trying to figure out how to make friends, where they fit in, who they enjoy being around, and how to express their emotions.

As you explore the social and emotional development of infants and toddlers I want you to discuss “How do early experiences of attachment and caregiving influence the social and emotional development of infants and toddlers? Discuss specific examples or research findings that illustrate the impact of early relationships on later psychosocial outcomes.”
