Public Sector Employee Unions Order Description Goal: Write a research paper analyzing journal articles covering your selected research question topic. Format Requirements: The paper is to be clear and concise. Students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation and misspelling. Students will automatically lose points if these limits are not followed. Your paper should be formatted using the Paper Template, APA style, and 10-15 pages in length, excluding the title, abstract and references page. Incorporate at least 10 different current scholarly or primary legal sources (statutes, court opinions) within your work (see Assessment Rubric in syllabus). Content Requirements: Using the research topic and research question selected in Week 2 and refined in Weeks 3 and 4, write a paper which: Identifies key CURRENT public policy issue(s) as defined by your approved research question Explains why these issues are relevant in America today Discusses the policy makers, actors, and stakeholders involved in these issues, how they interact and impact one another, and how agenda setting for these issues is accomplished Analyzes key alternatives that have been proposed to resolve the issues presented Evaluates the successes and failures of policy approaches to these issues to date Synthesizes the research by making specific recommendations to policymakers as to the best possible course of action to pursue.
