Race and ethnicity

  Derrick Bell’s  Space Traders has been both highly renowned  and highly criticized for its fictional depiction of the United States. Inside the classroom, it, at times, has resulted in high tension moments in lower division courses (I will no longer teach it below the 300 level). For this prompt, evaluate the representation of US society from the perspective of either an Ethnicity-Based, Nation-Based, or Class-Based approach. Based on your interpretation of these approaches, would the US accept the Space Trader’s offer?
