Radical politicians

What kind of government had they created? Read through the Constitution. How does it differ from the Articles? These radical politicians called themselves Federalists, and they wrote several tracts to try and explain and justify the creation of a new government. Not everyone believed that we needed a new government, but eventually, the Federalists swayed enough people that the Constitution was ratified and went into effect. George Washington became the first president, John Adams the second, and Thomas Jefferson the third. Looking at their inaugural speeches, what do you learn about their views of the presidency? Did they believe that the presidency was an active position? Did they believe that the president's role was one of the caretakers? How did these three different men interpret this new constitution?
