Spend time analyzing how the physical artifact of a book tells us about how it is valued and used. In your second assignment, you considered the publication context – where a story appeared, and thus in what form a reader encountered it – and how that context can affect your reading of a
piece of literature. In the Book Traces project, we considered how unique copies of books give us hints about how regular, everyday readers valued and used books.
In this assignment, we will focus on how a book’s popularity can tell us something about how that work speaks to a particular cultural moment. Using America’s Historical Newspaper, you will find a single

You have already found an article and posted it on our Moodle forum. For your 500- word paper, you should build on your work to write an analytical paper. Your analysis should compare and/or contrast the
newspaper article to a single scene, theme, or element of the novel.
The paper will be graded on your analysis of the relationship between the newspaper article and the novel.
In addition, you will be graded on the structure/organization and mechanics of writing
