Religion

  The statement of former president Regan quoted at the outset of this chapter continues: "We need it [religion] because we are imperfect. And our government needs the church, because only those humble enough to admit they are sinners can bring democracy the tolerance it requires in order to survive". (textbook, p. 130) Do you agree with the former president's statement?
