The report should be based around a real-world issue and must draw upon existing academic literature in order to support its conclusions. The topic I have chosen is Representation, focusing on how the media represents different cultures. The research report must include the following points: 1. Description of the issue All reports will have to provide a detailed description of the issue to be addressed, including clear evidence about the nature and the extent of the issue. This will constitute the main body of the report and may be broken into several sections detailing different aspects 2. The relevant literature This is a research report. In order to properly situate your topic in terms of the relevant literature, each report must contain a detailed literature review between 5 and 10 academic articles that are pertinent to the topic. While not all articles may be directly about the issue under examination, the discussion in your literature review section of the report must clearly describe how the article is relevant. All references must be submitted in Harvard referencing style. 3. Conclusions/Recommendations Depending on the nature of the report, each document must contain a section that summarises the main findings and makes recommendations where appropriate. These findings should be clearly based on the literature contained in the previous section.
