Research Methods and Dissertation/Project Proposal Order Description Word limit: 600 Words An essay considering the cases, data and method of analysis to be used in answering a research question of your choice in your field of study. This is expected to be an early stab at coming up with a research question for your dissertation/project. The essay should consider: ? The research question you are seeking to answer. ? What cases/data/method of analysis would be best suited to answering the question. Your evaluation must be based on appropriate research methods literature. A minimum of four academic publications about research methods must have been used. Essay structure: the essay should have a clear structure and signposting (i.e. telling the reader what the structure is and what each section of the essay will be about). ? Analysis: the essay should display an awareness of how to use specific research methods, data and/or research designs to answer the chosen research question. ? Knowledge and accuracy: the essay should show a good knowledge the research methods in the context of answering the chosen research question; and evidence of having read relevant literature (i.e. references). ? Written expression: The essay should be clearly written, easy to read and without language errors. The essay should show proper use of academic citation and bibliographical practices.
